Acerca de esta escucha
A young man is brought home from a clinic where he has been staying for an unknown length of time. Walking up to the front door he sees a large scorpion on the roof. The young man is greeted by a woman with a blue beehive. He isn't sure if it's his Mother. Nor is he sure that this is his family home.
The young man is an unreliable narrator, but may not be narrating the story at all. The shifting viewpoints of the narrator may all be due to the pills the young man begins receiving from the woman who greeted him. He's in a fog. He sees a woman writing in the house next door. Is she making the entire strange story up? Is she writing a story about a woman writing a story about a young man returning home?
Uncertainty rules in this oddball tale. Home is a puzzle within a puzzle. The listener enters a meta-mystery/suspense dark comedy. The ending of the book has a poetic, transcending twist, which raises questions about the book as a whole, not only about the fraught gulf between parents and children, but about the nature of creativity itself.
