I loved every criminally delicious moment of Holmes, Margaret and Poe. What a wild ride! Hooked from the first page - and not just by the edge of my seat crime stories but also the depth and complexity of the characters. Rock on Book 2! (Dreda Say Mitchell)

Entertaining

Bit much

Loved the 3 protagonists- there is some depth to their backstories that was left unexplored (perhaps intentionally if this turns into a series) but too much was happening all at once with lackluster storylines - it did not raise the sense of mystery and intrigue … I just kept asking “where is this now, whats the relevance, its something completely different, did i change books?” - would have loved it more refined to the protagonists - there were some witty bits - and definitely could have crafted a better mystery…
