Suki is ranked first in the year. She sits down at his table uninvited, tells him his channeling is wrong, and doesn't leave. Petra is his healer. She puts her hands on his scars and feels twelve years of pain written in his channels and she doesn't flinch. She builds a wall of medical protocols and bureaucratic shields between him and the people who want to cut him open again. She knows what he is. She's choosing to stay.
