Hog Heaven is a comic novel about the fast-food industry, GM food, vegetarianism, cookery shows and the superficiality of celebrity culture.

Harry Harrington is a hen-pecked celebrity chef filming a TV show called Hog Heaven. In this show, he lives a rural yet affluent designer lifestyle on a pig farm with his materialistic wife, Tabatha, and his god-fearing stepdaughter, Rosie. He’s known as The Meat Man because he specialises in cooking meat-rich dishes and happily takes his pigs to slaughter. Harry hates the falseness of the hard-bitten media world he inhabits and has a big secret: he wants to quit his show, but his aggressively demanding wife drives him mercilessly on the treadmill of his TV work.

When he suspects that Tabatha’s secretly seeing Rosie’s biological father, he decides his life needs revitalising, so he plunges into an affair with a lusty and idealistic animal rights activist called Lucy – an intense and highly-sexed young woman who claims to be his number one fan. When Tabatha finds out, she files for divorce and plots a terrible revenge. Meanwhile, the world’s largest burger restaurant chain, Barnaby Bear's, invented the first-ever diet burger using genetically modified pigs. Harry, as The Meat Man, lands a well-paid job fronting their ad campaign.

Lucy is outraged, decides he’s the vegetarian’s greatest enemy, and gets her fanatical animal rights friends to launch a ruthlessly deranged campaign that plunges Harry's life into chaos.
