Resumen del Editor

In Hitler, God, and the Bible, international evangelist and bestselling author Ray Comfort exposes Adolf Hitler's theology and abuse of religion as a means to seize political power and ultimately instigate World War II and genocide.

This fascinating study mines the depths of Hitler's beliefs and convincingly argues that without Hitler's misuse of Christianity the Third Reich would not have had its legendary rise, resulting in the deaths of more than six million Jews.

Highlighting Hitler's youth, his influences, and his path to seducing a nation, Hitler, God, and the Bible is a fresh, stinging reminder of the power of the cross and how its misuse led to the Final Solution.

wish it had gone deeper

I am a Christian & an avid student of WWII. I have NO problem with blatant presentation of the gospel for the furthering of the kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ, however, this book disappointed me somewhat. It seemed more interested in attracting a reader based on the title & the WWII hook, with the intent of presenting the gospel with a goal of salvation of unbelievers/those on the fence. Again, far be it for me to oppose anything that stands in the way of bringing people to God, but I wanted the book to take me deeper than it did into the beliefs/backgrounds/practices of the Nazi movement. I have read Rise & Fall of the 3rd Reich & listened to hundreds of hours of WWII material. There was not much here that went beyond what I have been exposed to in other works. A lot was author thoughts, more than documented info. It could have gone into religious backgrounds of individual Nazi leaders, not just Hitler, & discussed the mystical practices of the Nazis & how they twisted the church & the politics to their purposes; maybe lots of that is just not documented, & can only be surmized at this point; it's worth a listen, but is not likely to end up at the top of ones list of favorites, key sources, or recommended works. I wish Dietrich Bonhoeffer had survived to write on this area of interest.

Beware

It turns from a good book about Hitler into a debate about abortion in the last chapter.

Very Educational

Loved the book Ray! Learning about Hitler and his rise to power, the propaganda machine, and it’s power is a must especially for people of our day. I am a Trump supporter and I can especially see how people including myself can ignore the bad and focus on the good. In retrospect, it’s pretty scary. And it’s easy to see now how our news outlets on both sides were little more than propaganda machines. Great book, and on the blurb about abortion. It’s no secret that we all know how babies are made, so for those of us who seem to be confused and insist that thing in the belly is not a baby, then why use birth control in the first place? Because if it’s not a baby at the time of doing the deed, then apparently the creation of the real baby happens somewhere later in the process...... and of course that last sentence sounds absolutely idiotic, so how come so many people believe it???

Exceptional work!

Ray Comfort has put things into perspective. The American Holocaust is real. How can knowledge be turned into action with real meaning?

Lost interest 3/4 thru

Parts actually about Hitler and how he came up were good with thoughtful arguments. But then summed it all up as if abortion is the current holocaust and it is being perpetratedby Americans. Not a fan of abortion personally but this was not what I was expecting in a book about Hitler. Would not recommend after 3/4 thru.

We have met the enemy, is it us?

Too bad we in the west can no longer see the propensity in our culture. We've become so proud we say "never let it be!" Yet we are wretched and naked but we think we are rich, judging beings in history. Gain godly knowledge, open your eyes, be reasonable, and humble yourself before the Lord.

Good read with glaring oversights

How does one address Hitler from a religious standpoint without thoroughly addressing Luther's antisemitic writings and Hitler's use of Luther in his propaganda?

That aside, it's a good informative book. You can skip the last half chapter if you're pro-choice. His propaganda there comes out of left field.

Review

The title is rather misleading. You think it will be a deep theological look at the role of the church during the Holocaust, or at least how religion was utilized. The author did a great job giving historical background- but rather skimmed over theology or the church. It then launched into a modern perspective on abortion. So, if you’re looking for theology, this is not the book

A very simple and helpful book

I think everyone should take some time to read or listen to this book. Or just listen to chapters 6-7. A very humbling explanation of how the church in Germany was decieved and drawn away to a false Messiah. Also very humbling and frightening to see that the ideas of Hitler are still alive and spreading among everyday people even now.
