it must be remember Ed that this book was written mostly in the early to mid 1800s and is tinted it that like of the heroic frontier.
the book seem repetitious due to it covering the same historical events many times from different people's perspectives. But there are some great gems if you look deep enough about life on the Frontier especially discriptions of weddings and antidotes like Samuel Brady's snoring. Like frontier life it at sometimes this book has it's struggles. this is not Alan Eckert but it is like the books that inspired him.
