He’s young, rich, intelligent, tall and ready to settle down.
I’m Louisiana thick, curvy, and I’d like to say fine because it fits, and I keep trying to talk myself out of love.
And as fate would have it, I’m stuck in his home on Christmas Day.
Being an assistant, to Destiny- the owner and lead decorator at Dobrielle's-has good and bad qualities. It's one of Louisiana's largest and most sought after design firms. And I'm leaning but eager for my opportunity to shine.
I get big coins, but I’m still only my boss’s assistant. She gives me the job to decorate the office Christmas tree, and I understand this could open doors.
Like the scripture my grandpa always quotes, ‘If you be faithful over a few things, God will make you ruler over many.’
Well, I’m faithful.
So much so that I’ll neglect going to the office party so I can decorate for the rancher, Luca Stone.
Now, that I’m snowed in with him, he’s already made it clear…
I’m His for Christmas.

No issues with the FMC being plus sized but the constant internalized berating of her size is a bit annoying and unnecessary hyper fixation.
The MMC definitely seems Scrooge like when reminiscing on his past relationships. Seems to degradate the women in his previous relationships for not sharing the interest he has but also sounds vindictive to intentionally not support an ex's interest (even if superficial) because he felt she did it for attention. Sir, you lacked discernment. These women likely were already who they were when you met them and you just expected them to change. It's ok to recognize that you we're unequally yoked without being a jerk about the women.
Additionally, regarding the MMC and FMC, it was weird he gave her a closet of his dead mother's clothing to wear and then when she wore one of the outfits he cried because she looked so much like his mother. Sir, are you looking for a wife or your mother (Oedipus complex perhaps?)?
Just seems like if these issues were approached with how they used their faith/belief in Christ to address their own shortcomings and insecurities and slowed how they overcome these challenges and find love for the other, it would have been better. Instead they kinda pointed at other folks and situations as being problematic and almost trauma bonded over that and then covered unaddressed flaws with a mutual love of Christ instead of personal accountability. The bones of where the story was trying to go, I think I can appreciate that but delivery was a bit cringe.
Problematic character traits covered in Christianity and little introspection
