Hiring Do-ers for Success emphasizes the importance of hiring job candidates who can get the work done, not sing around the campfire in your culture. In describing his own hiring practices, Steve Jobs once said, “We hire do-ers to get things done.” This is the NFL way as well: “You don't know how they'll do until they are on your field.”
You and your company will benefit from adopting a similar hiring philosophy. Test and calibrate. Have your star employees interview candidates to see if they qualify. Then move to testing and trying. While this is an unusual way to hire for most companies, it is the standard for the great ones.
