Funny, Nostalgic, and Informative

I expected a list of bands, but what I got was part rock history, part comedy show. The author clearly knows his stuff but doesn’t take it too seriously, which makes it even better. It reminded me why I fell in love with hair metal in the first place.

Sounded like my TV was on in a good way

I’m an 80s baby through and through so I may be biased, but the 80s were the absolute best decade for music in my opinion. So much ACTUAL TALENT came out of there. This audiobook was a 10/10 for me and it reminded me of something that could have easily been on TV. I LOVED the music that was included and the narrator was a perfect match. I discovered some new bands that I will need to find more music for and I had a great time reminiscing with songs I haven’t heard in a while but still remembered the lyrics to. Easily made it to the top 3 of audiobooks I’ve listened to over the last month.

Fun Throwback

Listening to this brought back so many memories of my high school and college days. I especially liked the bit about Lillian Axe—my brother used to blast their music, and I hadn’t thought about them in years! It was fun hearing where some of these bands ended up, especially the ones you assume just disappeared. My husband even got into it and kept chiming in with “Oh man, I forgot about them!” while we listened together in the car. Definitely a fun listen if you were into the big hair and loud guitars era.
