Short and Sweet

I wanted to kill Troy so many times for being such a guy. Even though he irked me until the end, I loved this book. It was really cute and I liked the female narrator, the male was ok, except he sounded like a 60 year old man, instead of 20 or 30 something year old. I would still recommend and will have to look for other books by this author.

Good idea, bad execution

The plot is silly. The whole “he/she doesn’t feel the same” is such a tired cliche but it could have been executed better. Instead, we are taken through a million hoops just to get back where we started, turning out that everything could have been resolved sooner, in a less messy fashion. The motivation for the quest for a bride is absurd.
I wanted to read this for the paranormal feel but it was unsatisfactory, nonsensical and superficial.

I didn’t enjoy the narration. The old grandmother’s voice, especially, was very shrill. Both narrators have a singsong style that is annoying to me.
