What inspired them to do this? What were they trying to achieve? In seeking answers to these questions, we will examine the lives and sayings of the so-called "desert fathers", with a particular emphasis on the theological writings of Evagrius of Pontus (c. 345-399).

Really awesome book about the Desert Fathers!
Loved it! Great overview of the Desert Fathers & Mothers. Was going to listen to Thomas Merton on the Desert Fathers first but I was drawn to this book. So glad that I listened!

good format, mediocre narration, content was ok
not particularly captivating, but there was some good stuff. it was interesting at points to learn about this part of church history I have been curious about for years.
