Nicole seems to have met her match. Ned would not allow her to behave the way she had gotten away with. He reluctantly agreed to take her home with him for a trial period of one month. The test would be if she could make him love her again without seducing him.
But she didn’t believe that Ned wouldn’t stick to all the rules he set for her. He couldn’t keep his hands off her as it were. After everything she had done lately, Ned's 'challenge' had been her only option, but little did she know how hard it was going to be.
Pregnant, in a strange country where she didn't even understand the language - even when they spoke English - she couldn't resort to her vices to help her through, because Ned forbade most of them - no wine, no smoking, no intimacy.
She tried to be a better person, she really did, but she couldn't change who she was. And everyone seemed to be against her or spying on her to report back to Ned. Even the ghost of Ned’s ancestor was constantly watching her.
Because she loved Ned, she wanted to please him, yet everything she did seemed to get her into trouble with him.
