Athena Pappas is the head writer on one of the most popular sitcoms in television history. But when Vegas comedian Stephen Cosse is brought in to beef up the show's suddenly sagging ratings, she starts to worry about her job. Sparks fly as the competition - and attraction - between the two writers heats up. Athena has never had a problem scripting the romances of her characters. So why is her own love life so hard to script?
With humor and a Hollywood-insider viewpoint, Hello, Hollywood! delivers lots of laughs as the characters discover that not being in control of the plot of their lives might just be the best thing that ever happened to them.

When I started listening to Hello, Hollywood! I didn't realize that it was the second Backstage Pass novel but it made no difference to me. I laughed, shook my head, and even sighed a little over every chapter of Janice Thompson's charming and sometimes poignant rom-com. You see, there's a little bit of everything in this book, from first love to second chances, there's romance at twenty-something and romance that has weathered many years of change. You know, kinda like real life? Oh, and don't forget the slightly insane dog...
I'd have to say that, other than what I've mentioned above, my favorite thing about Hello, Hollywood! was Janice Thompson's ingenious chapter headings. Each one pertains to the contents of that chapter and each is named for a fun old TV show from Get Smart to Happy Days. I also adored the Dick Van Dyke show theme, it kept me in stitches!
So, I did listen to this story as an audiobook. It was a fun listening experience and I enjoyed the spark that the narrator brought to her reading. Her voice was as cute as the novel she was narrating. If you love faith-centered rom-coms you should check this one out, especially in audiobook.
(I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher. All opinions are entirely my own.)
Is love possible when competition runs high?
