Acerca de esta escucha
Anxiety can be an uncomfortable feeling. It is natural to want to make it STOP. The only problem is, trying to stop anxiety only makes it GROW.
Too many people have fallen into the trap of trying to numb, distract from, or mask anxiety. Even self-proclaimed experts give advice on how to do this. They promise that this is the path towards peace.
But, if you’ve tried these “quick fixes”, you know as well as I do that your body will fight you every step of the way. Why? Because you are trying to numb, distract from, or mask your internal alarm system that is fighting to protect you. It will never work…
But, there is hope. In this book, we will look at anxiety in a new way. We will learn what it is, why it’s there and how to respond to it instead of distracting from it. We will also learn how to listen to our anxious feelings and work with them instead of against them. In doing so, we will learn how to finally, truly, move towards peace.
I have seen hundreds of clients find freedom using the practices outlined in this book. I am honored to bring these tools to people beyond the walls of the counseling office.
I’m glad you’re here.
What to Expect as you Read
I have attempted to write this book in a way that is tangible, practical and accessible. The last thing that you need when you feel anxious is someone talking down to you or giving a wordy lecture from a podium.
Through shorter chapters, digestible content, and reflection questions at the end of each chapter, I hope that this will be a source of encouragement. It is also from a lens that is accessible to various walks of life and backgrounds. My heart is to help all people, not just those who might have a similar lens as me.
