In March of 1980, college senior Peter Panagore went ice climbing on the world-famous Lower Weeping Wall, along the Ice Fields Parkway in Alberta, Canada. As the sun set, he was overcome by exhaustion and hypothermia. He died on the side of that mountain in 1980. Panagore's near death experience (NDE) changed his life and resulted in an intense spiritual journey that has continued for decades. It impelled him to pursue a master's degree at Yale Divinity School focusing on systematic theology and Christian mysticism. His educational background coupled with 30 years of yogic and meditative practice and 20 years of professional work with the dying and grieving has given him unique insight, language, and perspective on heaven, God, death, life, love, beauty, and hope.

Love it

It gave me hope that something better is waiting on the other side. Amazing book

I'm filled with a sense of wonder and awe

from the first page I was entrapped in the book and following along. I was there with a sense of adventure, and also felt the Love, as well as the shame. I stayed glued to the book from beginning to end.
I appreciate this unpackaged view of life after death. there are plenty of "Scholars" who are ready to tell us how things are. But, then again, there were Pharisees and Sadducees in Jesus time to misguide the masses as well. I prefer a true, heartfelt look into the depths of what we can only believe or have faith in while we are alive.

A different view on dying

I really enjoyed the book. There is so much mystery around what happens at the time of death. I am not afraid of dying. I want to leave my physical broken down and pain riddled body here on earth and enter a realm of peace and acceptance and love. Just imagine, no more physical pain. I may actually look forward to it.

Beautiful Truth

Well written truth of Gods eternal love for us and the plans he made for us before we were in our mothers womb.
The story kept my attention from beginning to end. I highly recommend this book for those who are seeking truth and those who indeed know the truth. God is love and he is our father. We just have to open the eyes of our hearts to understand this.

A profound & enlightening story

It was a joy to listen to Peter's story about the reality of God beyond the veil of earthly life.

Very surprised I loved it as an agnostic

Whenever I've thought of death or the 'after-life', I've always had a very vague sense of what that would look like. And the author managed to describe nearly exactly the images and feelings I had conjured up over the years, even though I could tell it was very difficult for him to put into words. I was nodding my head yes yes yes throughout parts of the book.

One unfortunate after-effect of the book for me was that I understood his experience so profoundly that I can now feel that the world is greyscale, and what's waiting for us on the other side is technicolor. Sometimes it makes me feel like 'what's the point of all this?'.

Reading this book certainly didn't help with my chronic existential angst, but it made a huge difference in my being at peace with dying, whenever that may happen.
