The book felt honest and down-to-earth. Toby's story of hitting rock bottom made me trust his advice. I liked how his 12 Pillars turn real experiences—fasting, meditation, even tantric sex—into simple, daily habits. “You are your habits” stuck with me. Some of the blood tests seemed pricey, but his takes on relationships and stress, like passion needing space and good stress aiding health, gave me plenty to think about.

I gave it 4 stars because the audiobook narration had reverberation that made it sound like the narrator was in a large empty hall, and many of the principles were things I’ve heard before. Still, it’s a great starting point for anyone on their health and wellness journey.

The “Healthy Sex” chapter stood out, especially his take on balancing intimacy and passion, inspired by Esther Perel’s Mating in Captivity. I also liked the “superwoman/superman pose,” a quick, science-backed confidence booster that actually works. My only issue was the “Face & Body Beauty” chapter—it drifted into product talk, which felt off-brand. Still, the book is clear, grounded, and motivating. Payne gives practical tools to take charge of your health. Solid 5 out of 5 stars.
