Hazy Shade

Retirement should be easy enough, right? That’s what Simon Steed hopes when he hires Shade Olson, a recent law school graduate with excellent skills and test scores.
He still gets assigned court cases by a local judge, who respects his ability to bring out the truth and achieve a winning verdict. But now, at age seventy, he’s almost ready to leave it all behind and hand over his practice to Shade.
What he can’t seem to get rid of is the noise, music, and flashing lights at his neighbor’s house. Except no one is ever home.
Switching his medication doesn’t help. The situation gets worse when a car leaving that house late at night looks familiar. Could that be Shade making a getaway?
Nothing gets resolved, because it’s all too hazy, until…
