Comfort story

I've read the Harry Potter series several times since its release, and watched the movies as many times. I've been trying to learn Spanish, and felt like having a familiar story in the background might be a fun way to get a feel for the flow of the language. I recommend this approach for anyone wanting to accomplish the same goal. My only issue is the narrator. The pitch of his voice is somewhat high and mildly irritating. Regardless, I'll probably download the next book in the series for the same reason I downloaded this one.

Narration quality

The production was really good , Carlos Ponce did a good job and also the people involved in the translation

Text has been modified from books

I don't know if anyone else noticed, but in this and the first audiobook (and likely the following audiobooks) a fair amount of the vocabulary has been modified from the original translations to be more... Latin-American-friendly? No vosotros, fewer Spain-only words (which I'm sure some people will rejoice at) but I felt it was only half-heartedly updated, making for an odd dialect blend on occasion. I would much rather the original translation to keep it more coherent.

And of course, as others have already pointed out, it's like Carlos Ponce was trying to finish the book in record speed. Comparatively, the guy reading the French was way more charismatic sounding and had ample spacing between scenes, which would be greatly appreciated in the Spanish.

Overall good, because it's Harry Potter and because I love Spanish, but I was expecting a better quality performance (or was it a production problem?) Anyway, I'm still debating whether I want to invest in the next Spanish Harry Potter, because it sounds like these problems don't get any better. Maybe I'll go with the French, instead.

Great book. Great reading

Carlos Ponce does a great job reading this story. I am using input to learn Spanish and this is exactly at my level. It helps that I have read the books in english and am familiar with story.
