The three men stopped.

“You’re making things worse for yourself,” the sheriff said.
“You forget, I can’t make things worse for myself. They’re already as bad as they can get. I have nothing to lose,” Johnny said.
Jesse spoke up. “Johnny, ride away. Don’t do anything foolish.”
