Hampstead Tails

Have you ever wondered about the animals you pass by? This is a childrens book with a difference, focussing on Kwasiwak the squirrel from the "hole in the tree gang" in the midst of the forest in Hampstead Heath in north west London. Kwasiwak and Petal follow a falling star across the Heath to where the houses of the Manthings rise from the ground. There they rescue Wolfbane, a kitten who had been thrown in a bin. They make their way back to the safety of the forests where they meet Fang Guavara of the "Fieldmouse Underground". Wolfbane spends the last of the winter with the squirrels, but is becoming too large for the squirrel nest. What follows is a series of adventures with Wolfbane as he ventures out into the world - then is captured by boys who carry him back to trouble into the land of the Manthings. Hampstead Tails ... a tale of friendship and courage on Hampstead Heath, where every day many people pass yet have no idea of the lives of the creatures who make up the thriving life so close to the beating heart of London.
