On a blistering summer night, three thousand miles from Hollywood, a devastating fire erupts in a major movie studio’s film vault. Determined a tragic mishap by both local authorities and insurance investigators, young crack private detective Montague DiNardo, is hired by that same insurance company to confirm or dispute those findings. Initially, Monty affirms them.
However, after a visit to what’s left of the vault and its contents, Monty decides to give the situation his full attention. As the young detective doggedly delves deeper into the what or who might or might not have caused that fire, he collides with Hollywood’s underbelly and is forced to confront blackmail, extortion, deceit, revenge, a nasty power struggle for control of a major studio, obsession and possibly murder.
