Chapter 8. Not that interresting

Chapter 8 is Borring. to me but I like the rest of the book.interesting. Adventured..

Fun!!! I see a Series coming!

Light & very entertaining! Easy, breezy read, set in a fun fantasy world, with a nice twisty turny plot & an engaging heroine. Fun!!!

Generally I liked the story…but

The idea for for story was good, however I had to force myself to finish it. Nothing personal against the narrator, but it simply wasn’t well read, or maybe I should say it was read but by someone who isn’t used to bringing the story to life. Also I could not tell if the story was amateurishly written or if it was simply how it was read but the dialogue seemed almost childish. My recommendation would be to have the book re-edited and recorded again by someone who has more experience reading for the audience…Andrea Parsneau is a good example in this case. Or at the very least Ms. Parsneau could coach Ms. Parenteau on reading for the audience.

Great main character and tone. Solid story and world building. Good narrator. Really enjoyed it

Loved It!

There were times I didn’t think I liked it, there were times that I got a bit frustrated at the main character, not sure if it was because she was such a jerk, so stubborn, or the stupid over reactions, but in the end, I decided that I LOVED IT!
• Love the constant Action
• Love the intriguing Storyline that plays out well
• Love the Twist I didn’t see coming
• Loved the Character Depth that drew me in and eventually made me care enough to like, dislike, and appreciated their complexity
• Loved the Epic Choice at the Climax
And…
• Loved the Ending!!

I’ll be looking for more from this Author, and look forward to the Read/Listen!

Surprisingly great

The first two chapters didn't sell me but when it turned into more of a gumshoe film noir genre I ate it up.

Daily deal for the win!

So scored this little nugget on the daily deal and I’m thrilled I did. I saw the mixed reviews and it almost put me off but I’m glad I went for it. I’d pay full price for the next one if it was available today.
Heads up the gutter mage cusses a lot. I’m not mad about it. It fits. The narration is very good. This was my first time listening to Tanis Parenteau and I really enjoyed her! Don’t let the reviews scare you off. Listen for yourself.

Interesting story

Solid story idea, weighed down by to much violence and sex . Neither did anything to advance the story or help the character development. Nice set up for a series. I’ll look for the next one and hope for more targeted action less violence and sex just for violence and sex.

a wonderful surprise

Looking for a new author, I found this. The world is interesting. The MC, fun to follow. The reader does a good job. I recommend this for someone looking for something different.

Surprisingly good

I got this on a whim when it was on sale and was pleasantly surprised. The MC was well developed with a great back story that was introduced throughout the book. The sidekick support character was good, and led to a pretty cool twist with him that would lead to some neat options in a sequel. The magic system sadly didn't have hard rules and a solid structure, but was interesting and never became the overpowered fix all that so many fantasy book use it as. The story also questions the morality of how they have built their society, and again would lead to a great sequel.

Overall, pretty darn good and worth your time.
