Leverett Butts
Acerca de esta escucha
In this final volume of Leverett Butts' epic Western retelling of the King Arthur legends, secrets are revealed, sides are drawn, and war is waged in the West Texas town of Bretton. As Ardiss Drake prepares for his final confrontation with his adoptive nephew, Red Marten of the Aticota tribe, he feels old wounds returning and experiences strange visitations warning him of impending disaster.
Meanwhile, in a remote part of the Texas Waste Lands, Merle Tallison, former minister of Bretton, meets a young reporter who inspires him to return to Ardiss' side and render what assistance he can. On his journey back, he will encounter a man who makes him rethink his relationship with God.
In Fort Joye, as she awaits the return of her lover, Lancaster O'Loch, Guernica looks back over her life and tries to find some peace with the possibility of a future alone while far away, in the town of Freedom, Texas, Gary Wayne and Boris accompany Braddock as he takes Percy on a journey through the young man's past that will reveal secrets for which he may not yet be ready prepared.
Don't miss the explosive conclusion to what has been called “one of the most original retellings of King Arthur in recent memory.”

Psychologist have noticed that people often set themselves up in relationships and situations to relive past trauma to perhaps get it right this time, so I find it fitting that stories are retold. Leveret Butts has retold the Matter of England along with Indian lore, Norse mythology, I am sure other wisdom I did not recognize the source of and some of the hard won lessons of history to bring us a uniquely American tale.
