Grief: Poetry of Loss & the Love Left Behind is a raw and intimate collection of poems and illustrations that explores the many shapes grief takes when love has nowhere else to go.

Written in spare, aching language, Kaylin Wingfield traces loss through moments both quiet and unbearable: the weight of memory, the absence of touch, the future that never arrived, and the love that refuses to disappear. These poems speak to the grief of losing a sibling, husband, child, a parent, grandparent, friend, a partner, a beloved animal, and even the living who are no longer reachable. Each piece is a small vessel, holding pain, remembrance, and the enduring presence of love.

This book does not rush healing or offer easy answers. Instead, it honors grief as something deeply human, something that reshapes us, stays with us, and proves how profoundly we have loved. Through stark imagery and emotional honesty, Grief reminds listeners that even in darkness, connection remains.

For anyone who has lost, is losing, or carries love for what could not stay, this collection offers companionship, understanding, and the quiet reassurance that you are not alone.

I was listening to the short poem, which brought tears to my eyes. It has been 12 years since my dad passed away. Today is the anniversary of his death. Each of them touched my soul differently. It brought lost of memories, remembering him, and the ones that continue leaving us. I know everyone grieves differently, as others like watching over a photo album that brings memories, and others listen to their favorite music. What I enjoyed was how relaxing the narrator's voice was. Each poem had a meaning; it felt as if the author had lost someone. This is how she felt. Expressing her grief through poetry. I recommend this audiobook for someone who's going through grief; it can bring healing and comfort.
