Resumen del Editor

Are you excited about planning your next trip? Do you want to try something new? Would you like some guidance from a local?

If you answered "Yes" to any of these questions, then this Greater Than a Tourist audiobook is for you.

Greater Than a Tourist - Boston Massachusetts USA, by Alexander J. Dunn, offers the inside scoop on Boston.

Most travel guides tell you how to travel like a tourist. Although there is nothing wrong with that, as part of the Greater Than a Tourist series, this audiobook will give you travel tips from someone who has lived at your next travel destination.

You will discover advice that will help you throughout your stay. This audiobook will not tell you exact addresses or store hours but instead will give you excitement and knowledge from a local that you may not find in other smaller travel guides.

Travel like a local. Slow down, stay in one place, and get to know the people and the culture. By the time you finish this audiobook, you will be eager and prepared to travel to your next destination.

The narrator should have done a little research...

Very interesting, fun, and informative book, but the narrator did not research how to pronounce quintessentially "Boston" words. I was listening to this with some friends who aren't Boston natives (I am) , and the friends intend to visit Boston soon. I had to grit my teeth to keep from interrupting to correct what we were hearing. For example:

A "frappe" (ice cream drink) is not pronounced "frap-ay:. In New England, it is said like "frap". One syllable.
The Boston NBA team are not the "Kell-tics". They are the Celtics, prounounced "Sel-tics".
The street behind the bleachers of Fenway Park is not "Lands-own." It is "Lans-down" Street.
"Dorchester" is not pronounced like "Dorsh-ter". It is "Door-chester".

Linda Fitak even pronounced "Massachusetts" incorrectly. There's an A in there between the "Mass" and the "Chusetts". Use it!

There are more errors, but you get the idea. I would think a book about going beyond being a tourist would at least make sure they know what they're talking about. I know that the accent can sometimes be distracting and even disarming, but I would think she'd at least know what a professional basketball team's name is.
