There were a few moments in the story that felt a bit rushed or missing some transitions—for instance, the MFC was supposed to meet the MMC's brother, but the scene seemed to jump ahead without that introduction. It caught me off guard at first. There were also small things like "lighted up her imagination" where "lit up" might have flowed better. Some of the scenes blended into one another a bit too quickly, which made it hard to follow at times—I found myself rewinding a few parts to make sure I hadn't missed anything.

That said, once those bumps are out of the way, the story itself really shines. The character development was strong, and the slow burn romance was done beautifully. The chemistry between the leads felt genuine and engaging. With a few narrative tweaks, this could easily be a five-star listen.

Falling for the doctor

This is book 1 of The Rayburn Mysteries and a standalone story. Jo and her partner are working to solve the Gravedigger case. Bodies are being taken and then returned. The characters are complex with suspense and danger all around. It is a mystery and a romance with a happy ending.

Oh my gosh, I absolutely loved listening to this story. I couldn't put it down. I totally enjoyed it. Very entertaining. Y'all are gonna love it too.

Entertaining and interesting

Gravedigger by CeeRee Fields is an amazing romantic, murder mystery thriller. Meredith McGlinchey did an amazing job with the narration. The story is entertaining, interesting, thrilling, romantic, and more. Josephine Rayburn is a homicide detective and Rhysian Harrison is a coroner’s assistant. Both are unlucky in the love department til they meet each other. They are put on a task force to find a serial killer called the gravedigger. Will they find the gravedigger? Can Jo convince Rhys that she will be ok doing her job and it will be worth building a relationship? Or will he leave to protect his heart from being broken if something happens to her?
