Manchester, 2025. Local mechanic Sol steals old vehicles to meet the demand for spares. But when Sol’s partner impulsively jacks a luxury model, Sol finds himself caught up in a nightmarish transdimensional human trafficking conspiracy.
Hidden in the stolen car is a voiceless, three-armed woman called Y. She’s had her memory removed and undertaken a harrowing journey into a world she only vaguely recognises. And someone waiting in the UK expects her delivery at all costs.
Now Sol and Y are on the run from both Y’s traffickers and the organisation’s faithful products. With the help of a dangerous triggerman and Sol’s ex, they must uncover the true, terrifying extent of the trafficking operation, or it’s all over. Not that there was much hope to start with.
A novel about the horror of exploitation and the weight of love, Graft imagines a country in which too many people are only worth what’s on their price tags.

The narrator fits the characters and environment.
Simple but effective.

Any additional comments?
I'm only a couple of hours into this book and am greatly enjoying it. EXCEPT that the editor has done a horrific job. As with a few other books on Audible, there is NO pause between scenes. You have to listen extremely carefully and not let your attention flag for a nano-second, else you miss that you're in a new scene and ... things suddenly don't make sense. I REALLY wish Audible would stop promoting books with this editing style. Don't know if I'll finish the book or return it.That said, everything else about this listen is a definite four stars, and I may upgrade to five after finishing -- if I can get past the editing snafu.
Hey, Audible staff, are you listening??????
Please note that my three-stars for performance are related to the editing. I find the narrator most enjoyable; does a very nice job.
Horrific editing!!!
