Imprisoned in Ankh-Morpork, con artist Moist von Lipwig is offered a choice: to be executed or to accept a job as the city's Postmaster General.
It's a tough decision, but he's already survived one hanging and isn't in the mood to try it again.
The Post Office is down on its luck: beset by mountains of undelivered mail, eccentric employees, and a dangerous secret order. To save his skin, Moist will need to restore the postal service to its former glory, with the help of tough talking activist Adora Belle Dearheart. Who happens to be very attractive, in an 'entire womanful of anger' kind of way.
But there's new technology to compete against and an evil chairman who will stop at nothing to delay Ankh-Morpork's post for good....
The first book in the Discworld series-The Colour of Magic-was published in 1983. Some elements of the Discworld universe may reflect this.

"Moist" reads his story
Richard Coyle reads this most excellent story by Terry Pratchett. I've heard the first recording by Stephen Briggs which was good, But this one read by the guy who plays Moist in the tv adaptation definitely adds to the fun. Aside from the fact that he was perfectly cast for the role, he's also a very good audiobook narrator. I'm going to buy (again) the other 2 Moist books read by him and look if he's narrated more.
Definitely worth spending the money getting this book for the second time.

The main character was amazing
I’ve read and listened to this a few times, I just love the Moist von Lipwig books. He is such a wonderful character to follow.

Excellent as expected
Great presentation of a very endearing book. Unexpected to hear the voice of the actor who played the main role in the tv series..

I'm struggling with the voice acting
I'm supposed to like this book, but unfortunately I'm struggling to follow the story. The voice acting is kind of over the top and ends up being too much and mumbly. I'm unfortunately not sure if I'm able to finish the book. The story is jumping from one point of view to another and there is no musical dividers.
