Do not read this book ... unless ...

This is a very harsh book, and as the author, I'm warning you that you probably shouldn't read it. It's not likely to be a pleasant experience, and you'll probably leave me a bad review. You might even try to find me online and send me nasty messages. So, please, for my sake and yours, do not read this book unless you're prepared for a frank conversation about the Bible and our guilt before a holy God.

In this short book, I demonstrate that modern Republican immigration policy systematically violates clear biblical commands regarding the treatment of immigrants. I do not make this claim lightly. I am not arguing that Republicans have merely chosen a different interpretation of ambiguous texts. I am arguing that they have taken clear, repeated, and emphatic commands from God and have done the exact opposite of what those commands require. Like the pharisees in Matthew 23:18, they have invented fictional biblical categories to justify their disobedience, and they have convinced millions of Christians to follow them in their rebellion against the Word of God.
