It's well worth reading

I was hooked after the first few pages. I couldn't stop reading. I finished it in a week.

Captivating story from the get go. This real-life tale of partying starts with innocence and morphs into addiction. Start it when you have time...cuz you won't be able to put Glue down.

This story is rough. I’ve never been one for drugs of any kind, or junkies, for that matter. The appeal of this story to me is seeing how one mistake can lead to a downward spiral. It doesn’t pull any punches and gives the down and dirty details on all of Dacia’s life. It was done well, it made me feel for a junkie whose problems were all her own causing.

the narrator is absolutely awful. She sounds like she’s in a hurry, never pausing naturally while doing dialogue. At one point, the audio recording ended and another started and it sounded like she had a raspy throat. It sounded as if she just got over a cold, her throat was still scratchy, and she decided to record anyway.

She says made-up words, such as “onvelope”, “farmiliar”, “ashfault”, and can’t tell the difference between O and Zero. She also speaks everything in the same inflection and gives every character the same voice, making it a pain in the ass to tell who the hell was who. If I wanted every character to sound the same, I’d just read it myself instead of listening to an audiobook. One additional issue is toward the end, there’s an entire chapter that’s repeated. A chapter header is placed before it, which is odd, it makes me wonder if one was missing from the audiobook.

Glue is gripping and sad, it’s moving, and it reads like a memoir and while I recommend it, I suggest you skip the audiobook version and go eBook or physical.
