Resumen del Editor

Going-to-the-Sun Road, in Glacier National Park, is one of the most spectacular drives in the world. It promises sensational mountain scenery and the opportunity to view wildlife up close. You won’t be disappointed! This 50-mile trans-mountain highway follows the banks of glacial lakes, passes through sloping forests of deep emerald green, skirts sheer cliff walls with gentle waterfalls and dazzling wildflowers, before ascending to its summit: the windswept alpine meadows at Logan Pass (elevation 6,646 feet).

So hit the road and head for Montana with Travel Audios’ park-approved audio tour. This tour is not a mile-by-mile guide; it can be listened to anywhere. But assuming you are like the majority of park visitors, you’ll take the thrilling Going-to-the-Sun Road up and over the mountains. Therefore, while you drive, many of the scenic features that are visible from that road will be described.

Throughout the tour, you’ll hear fascinating facts and stories from an impressive group of knowledgeable Park Rangers and the Chief of the Blackfeet Nation. They’ll explain the geological forces that created the park’s jagged peaks and glacier-carved hanging valleys. You’ll hear about life zones, and why vegetation changes as you go up in elevation. You’ll hear about forest fires, about fragile plant communities, and about the park’s diverse bird and wildlife populations. And you’ll hear about grizzly bears - their behavior, their struggles and the dilemma their presence causes in a national park. You’ll also hear plenty of stories about Glacier’s rich cultural history and about those who influenced its development.

Professionally narrated and filled with music and nature sounds, this tour is as entertaining and it is educational.

Interesting info but bad sound recording!

For those interested in learning some basic and general facts surrounding the GTTSR, this short audio may hold some interesting tidbits. Overall however, the sound engineering/mixing on this recording was terribly done! Why someone thought it would be a brilliant idea to throw in nature sound effects like bear growls, bird song, wolf howls, babbling brooks, rushing wind, and bellowing elk (just to name a few sounds) escapes me! Ok, if the publisher or director wants it, at least chop the sound level down to half of the narrator so the listening audience doesn't have to strain to hear what he's saying above the din of nature! UGH. Or maybe decide to cut the informative park talk and just be a "sounds of nature" app? I should've just returned this.

Not a driving guide

Thought I was buying a guide to use as you drive, this was just a story, and a short one at that.
