Logline: In this series not just about "How the West was Won", but also about "The Things" The West Was Won From", Marshall Carleton & his family recount their days in The Old West - Pelesit, Wyoming - from 1851 through the turn of the 20th century and their struggles. Men, Women & Children, armed only with the weapons of their time, the greatest of these their heart, soul, wit, and will, tamed "The West" amidst the horrors of Wars and their aftermaths — Indian, Mexican-American, Civil; . . . harsh environments; outlaws; . . . ; Ghosts; Demons; Things That Seeped From The Stars; . . . This, the first story in the franchise spanning the summer of 1851 - 1852 is told in the form of interlocking vignettes in which one story is dominant while others are maturing or have ended. Loglines of Stories within: 1. Shadow Death — A creature that exist only as a shadow of unnatural color, never meant to touch our world, crashes to Earth in a meteorite, where it learns it can feed on the shadow of humans, bringing horrific, terror and death. 2. The Corpus Blossom Hive — When a terrifying "plant" that gives birth to hybridized human, reptilian things matures, the town has only one choice fight and win or die. 3. Beware The Horse — A creature leaving a lake takes on the form of an inviting horse to feed on anyone that dares ride it. 4. Someone For Everything — Amidst a fierce snowstorm Marshall Carleton and his deputies tracking down a gang of bank robbers discover some "Thing" is also tracking down the outlaws and dispatching them one by one and when it's done they may be next. 5. Quit It Luke — The Marshall's youngest son, Alex, 12, is befriended by the ghost of a boy his own age, Luke, who ends all their play dates with escalating violence culminating in a nightmarish end.

The story was meandering and characters were under developed. I listened all the way through and was somewhat entertained that why I am giving the t a 4. That said, it is meh+!
