When a Christian discovers the Lord's return to gather His church at the Rapture they often wonder why it seems like no one is talking about it. There is so much joy, so much hope, so much peace, so much comfort in knowing that at any moment the Lord may return to gather His bride and we will be face to face with the Lord. The more we look the more we see that this is one of the major themes of the New Testament - and with great reason. The Return of Christ for the church is not only the next step in God's revealed plan - it is the only hope for planet earth. This gives the believer even more reason to place our thoughts, our affections, and our hopes on that blessed hope which the Lord places before us. This theme is often ignored in modern church culture and it leaves each of us to wonder why. Perhaps distraction with our circumstances can account for it on some level. Yet it is also true that believers whose eyes are fixed on the present are most easily manipulated by the cares and concerns of this world. However, when we truly fix our gaze upon the hope of the Lord's return. When we come together with Paul and "love the Lord's appearing" (2 Timothy 4:8) we are equipped to face this world with hope and uncompromising desire to see God glorified in every situation. This book is not a defense of the doctrine of the Rapture, it is an exhortation and encouragement to every believer to let the most important things occupy our thoughts and truly make the Lord's priorities our priorities.
