Great Listen for Middle-Grade Portal Fantasy Fans

Georgie Karras and the Niddle of Nern immediately pulled me in with its warm, nostalgic atmosphere and richly drawn setting. The story opens in 1940s Chicago, and the details of life in a Greek immigrant household feel both authentic and lovingly rendered.

The narrator’s voice is a standout, expressive and natural, fitting the tone perfectly. I really enjoyed the way the story blended culture, family, and magic in a way that felt heartfelt and timeless. It has that classic middle-grade sense of wonder that makes you feel like you’re discovering another world just beyond your own. A beautiful listen with heart and imagination.
