The Caroline Series began with "Halfway to Heaven: Caroline’s Story" (Book 1), which punished the guilty. Next came "Nearer to Heaven: Caroline’s Journey" (Book 2), and the self-righteous were called out. This is the finale, "Gates of Heaven: Caroline’s Adversity" (Book 3).
Eyvonne reveals how Caroline’s father laid the foundation for her to become the perfect wife, employee, mother, and friend in order to try to keep calm and order. Submissive Caroline learned early in life what the consequences were otherwise. She would be rewarded, like a rat on a wheel, as she was given something, she had only dreamed of, if she turned her anger, tears, or sadness into happiness.
