Is there a God?

Is He good?

Did He write the Bible?

Would He approve of any modern religion?

Fun, funny, blasphemous, easy to understand but hard to refute: GOD DOES NOT EXIST BUT, IF HE DOES, HE’S NOT GOOD, AND ANYWAY, A GOOD GOD WOULD NOT WRITE YOUR BIBLE OR ENDORSE YOUR RELIGION is a comprehensive look at all the ways in which it is possible to deny the existence of God, and what it means for someone to say that they're an atheist.

Many discussions of theism and belief in God can get bogged down in minor quibbles or points that ultimately don't mean much. This book seeks to look at all the various ways that the existence of God can be challenged, and critically what each of them mean.

We'll look at some arguments that are fun intellectual puzzles regarding the beginnings of the Universe, the meaning (or lack thereof) of the existence of anything at all, ways in which literally everything could have been totally different, whether it's even possible for a Universe to exist if there's no God, and the all-important nature of alien video games and why they prove there's no God.

We'll also look at some things which are less fun: the evils of nature, the evils of man, the evils of the Bible, the ways in which our bodies and our environment are kind of stupid, and especially the evils of modern religions. Why is it important that it's statistically safer to leave your children alone with a convicted felon than a priest? Why argue about philosophical contradictions in the Bible?

And, ultimately: why is it important to fight against damaging myths, cultural indoctrination, and a tradition of coming up with reasons to declare that something you think is yucky is actually evil?

While I might not convince you of the truth that God doesn't exist, I hope you will come away from this book as someone who is less willing to accept cult rituals in place of actual good works, and more willing to love your neighbor, turn the other cheek, and wash some God Damned feet.
