The 20th century clearly belonged to the USA. The 21st century will be China’s, unless the USA reforms its faltering political system, as outlined throughout this book.
- The U.S. Constitution is so old and outdated that it can no longer be effectively amended - It must be rewritten.
- I propose that the Constitution, and each one following it, expire after 19 or 20 years -- Thomas Jefferson.

In other words, the political system is decisive, and China’s is better than America’s.

To fully grasp this assessment, one must understand both the USA and China, because in today’s world, neither country can be fully understood in isolation from the other.

Unfortunately, most Americans have little understanding of China. As a result, the USA not only fails to grasp the urgent need for political reform at home, but also resists acknowledging China’s “rise”—failing to see that China is simply returning to the prominent position she held throughout the Common Era, with the century of humiliation being merely a historical aberration.

Worse yet, many Americans do not fully understand their own country, from the real reason behind the American Revolution (Chapter 8) to the Trump phenomenon (Chapter 39), thanks to the thorough brainwashing throughout American history (Chapter 20).

Most alarmingly, the USA has been provoking China with “wars.” Two examples:
  • 2020: America’s Unholy Crusade Against China.
  • 2025: Jeffrey Sachs’ Scary Prediction On US-China Trade Deal Amid Tariff War.

As a Chinese-American, I am caught between a rock and a hard place. On one hand, I wish China—my native country—well, for she endured immense suffering over the past 200 years. On the other hand, I wish the USA—my adopted country—well, for she must halt her precipitous decline. Above all, there must be no war—trade or otherwise—between the world’s two largest economies.

So, what do I do?

I write, truthfully (Chapter 159: Why and how do I write?)!

This book is deeply about the USA, with only as much depth on China as most American readers will need. The manuscript was largely finalized on June 21, 2025 (i.e., the day the USA bombed Iran) for publication in December 2025.

This book contains 162 chapters organized into 33 parts. All references are available online. You can either click the link for the e-book or search by title for the paperback and hardcover. An audio edition is also available.

1. What is the USA?
  • Born a plutocracy: The USA began as a “republic for the wealthy,” with money shaping everything from politics to justice. Despite considerable progress over the past 200 years, the country remains essentially unchanged: it's still a plutocracy.
  • A colonial power: The USA emerged as a new colonial power, vastly expanding colonial holdings, only without Britain. Today, as the last major colonial power still standing, the USA is collapsing not only morally but also economically.
  • Built on lies: Much of American ideology rests on falsehoods. “All men are created equal” is the mother of all American lies, and “We the People” a close second.

In short, much of what you think you know about the USA is wrong.

2. What is China?
China is the greatest country in human history for two main reasons:
  • It has the world’s longest continuous civilization.
  • It is the only major civilization to rise, nearly collapse, and then come back.

Moreover, China is arguably the greatest country in the world today. China is finally bringing an end to Western colonialism (dating back to 1492) with state capitalism. China has lifted more than 800 million people out of poverty over the past few decades, without firing a single shot or dropping a single bomb. This kind of rapid societal advancement is unprecedented in history.

In short, much of what you think you know about China is wrong.

G2: The USA vs. China by Frank Li provides a concise overview of the growing strategic rivalry between the United States and China. The book explains how both countries shape global economics, technology, and geopolitics, and introduces the idea of a “G2” world dominated by these two powers. I especially appreciated the discussion of how trade and technological competition have become central to their relationship. Overall, it’s a clear and informative read for anyone interested in international affairs.

A straightforward take on the USA - China rivalry
