Compared to life on tour with her wannabe rock star mother, finishing high school in the dull town of Rye is a snooze. At least, Roxy has her best friend, Zoë, her doting dad, and her music. Like a warm hug from a good friend.

I loved this book! It had me looking up new songs I haven’t heard of or reconnecting to the joy of ones I had. And that was just the music, beyond that, was a story with so much heart. I don’t often read books with teens, but when I do, I want them exactly like this. The angst. The flutters. The humor. The friends. The dealing with school drudgery. I loved it all. This book just makes you feel good from beginning to end.

This listen was fantastic. Narrators did a great job bringing the characters to life. I especially adored happy day. You’ll understand when you listen.
