Rennie Curran has spent the past 13 years of his life doing the very thing that he loves – playing the game of football. In 2010, Curran's childhood dream became a reality when he was drafted in the 3rd round of the NFL Draft after a spectacular career as an All-American linebacker at the University of Georgia. Everything seemed to be going according to plan; however, Curran would suddenly be thrust into a situation that would make him question everything about himself and his purpose in this world.

Rennie Curran’s story is one of a lifelong journey; a journey of highs and lows, triumph and adversity, and the ability to overcome that adversity through faith and strength. In Free Agent: The Perspectives of a Young African-American Athlete, Curran recounts his experiences in hopes that his story will help others who are facing similar crossroads in their journey of life, giving them the inspiration they need to overcome any obstacles they may encounter on the way to finding and attaining their dreams.
