Frantic Love

Josephine Taylor has a well-paying job as a reporter in New York City. She loves every minute of it – the action, the adventure, and the fact that it has allowed her to focus on marriage for love instead of keeping herself off the streets. She's had no luck with marriage, and that's all right with her.

Until she overhears something outside Tammany Hall about fixing an election and decides to print a story about it. When the story breaks, she starts getting afraid of everything. With a threat against her life, she must flee.

In Boston, she searches for a job and a husband when that fails. Her cushy job is no longer an option, so she writes to a man named Christopher Buchanan on San Francisco's outskirts, California.

He sounds like a great man, but she worries that she might bring harm to his doorstep. Still, it is her best chance to get away from those she wrote the fixed election story about.

Will San Francisco bring Josephine the love and peace she seeks, or will those who want to fix elections delve into other crimes to shut her up?
