A Tale of Two Legends

The fog returns to the hollow first. It is an unnatural shroud that swallows sound and smothers the light, a harbinger of a terror reborn. The Headless Horseman rides again, but he is no mere ghost story whispered by a fire. He is a whirlwind of supernatural violence, a phantom of terrible power, and the terrified townsfolk are defenseless against his spectral blade.

Eleonora, a woman of science and a descendant of the unfortunate Ichabod Crane, refuses to surrender to the encroaching darkness. She knows the legends are real, and that no mortal militia can stop the phantom rider. To fight a monster of folklore, she needs a monster of literature.

Hidden in the deep woods, scarred by a world that has only ever shown him hatred, lives a creature of immense power and sorrow. He is a tormented soul who sought only peace but will soon be asked to become a savior. For in a valley haunted by a relentless phantom, it takes a monster to kill a monster, and the price of salvation may be as terrifying as the curse itself.

Battle for Sleepy Hallow

With much more seriousness and emotional sincerity than I thought I’d find in a book like this, Lester Wolfe rises the subject matter up to fine literary standards. Sure, there are the foolish and stupid towns people who mistake the monster’s intentions. Quickly they become the pitchforks and torches kinda rabble dead set on destroying the Monster. Luckily they don’t keep the stories’ main focus all that long, and the much better tale and battle become the unique focus of this entertaining audio book.
It was good entertainment and a fine addition to my October annual reading list.
