Acerca de esta escucha
After he is found adrift in the Arctic by Captain Fredrick Walton, a gravely ill Victor Frankenstein recounts the story of his life up to his discovery. He tells how his obsession with science led to the creation of an abomination who, to his horror and shame, he abandoned. The creature's quest for both revenge and understanding from his creator leaves a violent trail of devastation in Victor’s life that affects all those he holds dear.
Frankenstein is a powerful story of love and ambition, of friendship and morality, and of horror and violence.
"Beware, for I am fearless and therefore powerful"
Frankenstein, written by the 18-year-old Mary Shelley, was originally published in 1818. This audio version uses the text of the revised 1831 version of Shelley's famous tale.

He sleeps, but he is awakened...
Frankenstein by Mary Shelley has endured and inspired for more than 200 years. This classic gothic tale of the limits to which the curious mind of a genius will go to serve his pride, encompasses the timeless questions posed by religion, science, philosophy, and ethics, some as relevant and maybe more so in these current times. I have read the novel many times over the years, seen the movies, this is the first I have listened to an audio version.
Most know the story of Victor Frankenstein and the creature he created. Most are familiar with the curious turn karma takes as Frankenstein’s creation destroys his life, his family and everything he loves. The voices the narrator, Rob Goll, brings to these characters is engaging. Especially outstanding is his telling of the Creature’s tale. Here Frankenstein is presented with the realization, that even he could not have dreamt he would create such an intelligent, resourceful being, capable of feeling pain, longing, and the need for love. Goll expresses these emotions vividly, with perfect dramatic pause and pacing.
In Shelley’s own words she set out to create a tale: “…one to make the reader dread to look round, to curdle the blood, and quicken the beatings of the heart.” Goll’s singular dramatization does all that during, and even after the final words are spoken.
I highly recommend this audio version of Mary Shelley's brilliant novel, Frankenstein,

Not the 1818 Edition, as advertised!
Not the 1818 Edition, as advertised! I only bought this as an accompaniment to the 1818 kindle edition, but they do not match up. @amazon please fix this.
