Great start to what I hope is a long series

I really enjoyed this story because the writing was done very well in my view. The way it was written leads me to believe they have experience in the general setting. I have listened to many books as I drive down US Highways and I am always looking for engaging stories to listen to. This book reminded me of great writers such as Brandon Sanderson and Christopher Poleine ( miss spelled I think). I would strongly recommend this book to anyone who likes space, fantasy, and language that is not afraid to offend. When I was tired this story helped me stay alert with is own form of comedy and action.

Enjoyable to a point.

The world building had many neat concepts and the idea of telling it from a bootcamp was good. That said, some of the suspension of disbelief required took me out of the story. The God tier characters are a bad point for me, and a big part of my issues with the story. I think it could be better served without them. The technology used I could, partially, get behind. The largest issue I had was the narration itself, the cadence of speech almost made me stop before the story really started. I'm not a fan of the constant 'ta' at the end of so many words and I feel it kept me from enjoying the story more.

Introduction of unique fantastical technology!

It's hard to write a review about a book without giving away any spoilers, but this book quickly became one of the more enjoyable sci fi stories I've read! Refreshingly creative concept! Best way I could describe it is that it reminds me of a cross between the game Mass Effect and the movie Ender's Game, but with the introduction of unique fantastical technology. If you enjoy reading about futuristic concepts, I highly recommend this book. I was able to follow it easily and it kept my attention the entire time. I can't wait to read the next book in the series!!

Strong story and world building

This was a fun listen. It had an interesting technology system and believable universe. There were a few moments I had to fact check but did not distract me from the plot. I'll have to pick up future titles.
