One thousand years without sin.
It isn't possible. Why, you ask? Well, the Brothers of Amathus crave sin, and this all started with my death. Upon it, each man in the House of Amathus was cursed by Widow.
But am I truly dead? Did she really kill me? It doesn't feel as though I am dead. I have a body--borrowed, of course--and I keep jumping through the warped strings of dreaded time, always coming back to the one moment I 'crave'.
That's the gist of my curse, isn't it? I have to keep reliving what I surely want to forget.
I wasn't the brother they needed. I was the dispensable. They never tried to save me on that fateful night. Instead, they made deals with Widow to save their own skins.
Will they try to save me now, try to get me back, if I can actually alter history? Probably not. My brothers have been too self-absorbed throughout the last four hundred years to even care that I'm dead.
There is only one who cares. And she's the one I crave.
I'm likely wishing for a happy ending that will never come.
But...while I wait, I'll live this 'life' as I see fit. Eventually, I'll get my revenge.
