The name of the city was Fordlandia. Surrounding this granule of historical curiosity is a rich, captivating fable that explores the fundamental struggle between man and the natural world. Interesting epilogue to Amazon trip
After a trip to Santarem and seeing the rubber trees this story filled in the history of an important era. The slavery that occurred was not really described as Ford really ran a company town and kept workers in constant debt. Interesting insight on Ford.
