OUTRAGEOUS FUN !

so many threads weaving a brilliant and vivid tapestry of charming scenes, characters we love to be around and a world so real it is a visit, not simply a listen !

self assured person enjoying life

the enjoyment of this book for me came largely because of the character of the protagonist, Corinna Chapman. Such easy appreciation and acceptance of herself and people around her is just lovely. The voice actor, Ms Seversen gave the book an extra dimension. I would listen to her work again for sure.
The story feels a bit far fetched, and not extremely mysterious, but that's not a problem. The pace is good and I felt enough outrage and sympathy in the right places to enjoy it. Kerry Greenwood creates interesting and likeable characters. Always a pleasure to meet them.

Great story with a strange holiday twist

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I love that the book is set in Australia, so seasons are opposite. And the characters are just quirky enough to be fun, not totally off the wall.

Any additional comments?

This book is just lots of fun. Some social commentary, but the live and let live attitude carries through. Entertaining. The narrator has the right tone for the book.

Late to the Party

I came to this series as a fan of Phryne Fisher. I nearly decided that the format of this one had run its course by the third book, and would have missed out on the two best books yet, more fool I. Recommended.

Love

I love this voice actor, so easy and fun to listen to. And the content is amazing. Fun and interesting plots and characters… not to mention body positivity and FOOD.

Nicely done; very enjoyable

Another very enjoyable story about Corinna and her wonderful bakery, the great friends she has, and the odd little mysteries that fall into her life. Nice Christmas theme twining through, without being sappy; and of course there’s no snow, since Christmas happens in Melbourne in the middle of summer. The narrator, Louise Siversen, isn’t quite as multi-voiced as Stephanie Daniel, who reads Greenwood’s Phryne Fisher books, but she’s very good. 4 stars means I like it a lot.

Definitely recommended.

Another Entertaining Corinna Chapman Novel

Another descriptive and entertaining book by Kerry Greenwood. I really enjoyed the depiction of a hot Australia in the middle of December and, as always, ate up the descriptions of Earthly Delights bakes.

Perfect narrator!

The publisher's blurb is pretty good, but I really love the characters, especially those who live at Insula! It's what the characters say and do that make the books, plots are always important but if the characters don't worm their way into you it's just another read. Each book in the series can stand alone, but you miss some really great laughs. Reading in order is not really necessary.
