Fake dating their way to my heart

For the Gods’ Sake is book three in the Tempt the Gods series. I was looking forward to this one as Adrian had me NEEDING to know more about him since the first time he was mentioned. This book centers on the fake dating trope, which is a favorite of mine because there's always more feelings than there should be and I eat it up.

Adrian is the new king of the Gods and this book is more than just his relationship with Reyna. He's juggling not only a great deal of power but also a lot of guilt. Adrian seems cold and emotionless at first but there's so much more to him and I really love that it's Reyna who brings it out in him. The dynamic between these two is fantastic. I noticed that a lot of reviews didn't like that there was a bit of a slow start to the book, but I really liked being taken along on their dates and dinners with family. I feel like including this makes the relationship payoff so much more once it's not "fake".

This book ALSO gives us the big reveal on the conspiracy that has been escalating over the previous books. I have been trying to figure it out and I wasn't even close. I'm also now INCREDIBLY excited for the next book as I'm really curious how the "punishment" is going to go. Rory continues to be such an excellent storyteller and I adore these books.

I would be remiss if I didn't add that Sara Brodt did the audiobook. As with the past books, this one is just as well done. In this one characters from the previous books reappear and the way that Sara does their voices brings you right back to their books. You know who is speaking and you remember their story. She's truly a remarkable narrator.

Loved it!

I'm always for a fake dating trope and really enjoyed the overarching plot! With things still unsteady, Adrian Zeus Jupiter must create a distraction for the media. However, Reyna may be more of a distraction than he bargained for! The big bad is also revealed in this book, and I loved how everything unfolded.

I listened to the audiobook, and Sara Brodt did an excellent job! I can really imagine the characters and hear their personalities through her narration. This series has been. alot of fun, and I can't wait for the final book!
