Everyone has demons…
…but for Josef, evil has a name. After confronting an old enemy, Josef is left with a particular gift, granting him untold opportunities. But, as with everything, this comes at a hefty price. Each time he’s confronted with using his new found gift, Josef has to convince himself it’s for the better. As his life spirals out of control, Josef must decide whether he can reign in the new power or be consumed by it.
In the Splatterpunk Award-nominated novel, Left to You, 70 years of Josef’s story goes untold. For the Better sheds light on that tale, giving an in-depth look into one man’s struggle with Hell on Earth.
Could you kill innocence if you thought it was for the better?

This book fills in the gaps of how Joseph got saddled with the demon and how that possession just decimated his life while extending it. This story echoes the phrase "Be careful of what you wish for...". Mr. Volpe reminds me once again, why I keep coming back to his books. Obviously I love filthy chaos and I should definitely seek help. Lol. Just kidding.
I come back to Mr. Volpe because he has a "knack" for incredible storytelling regardless of his expert use for vile circumstances. He is a surgeon at utilizing wordplay and he doesn't shy away from sensitive topics of social concern. His works often ask us to examine why one does what they do and at what cost. This book does the same wrapped in gore painted words.
That said this book was a short dose of "Volpeism". Pay the gross no attention (Okay don't it's deliciously demented) and understand what is being said. You'll find yourself as a Volpe-ist in no time.
Thanks for the Prequel...Midquel....Before the last book-quel
