You cannot have Christ if you will not serve Him. If you take Christ, you must take Him in all His qualities. You must not simply take Him as a Friend, but you must also take Him as your Master. If you are to become His disciple, you must also become His servant. God-forbid that anyone fights against that truth. It is certainly one of our greatest delights on earth to serve our Lord, and this is to be our joyful vocation even in heaven itself: His servants shall serve Him: and they shall see His face (Revelation 22:3-4).

Charles H. Spurgeon originally wrote this book for members of the Young People's Society of Christian Endeavor. Spurgeon's heartfelt writing style makes this book one that today still encourages believers to move into Christian action. He emphasizes simply moving forward, using the talents and resources you already have at your disposal, for the Lord's service and your own eternal reward. The concepts presented are easy to understand and straight-forward, if only you are ready to lay down your life to follow Christ.

This book has been wonderful for me. Charles Spurgeon does not sugar coat the Gospel. it's a wise thing for me to take to heart what I have learned from this book and grow spiritually! I highly reccomend this book. you won't regret it once! oh yes the speaker.... fabulous accent

This son of God will help to lead you in our Lord’s ways through this text. With a heart devoted to our Lord Jesus, he will help to fan the flame of your faith and outward expression of allegiance to the King.

Food for the soul…

Listened to this during a fast, made me feel as if my spirit & soul was about to burst with fullness. Depth, humbleness, courage & truth are ingrained in this book.

Inspirational

Spurgeon teaches the Word of God in love and unpoligetically. He lived Jesus Christ and his teachings reflect it so powerfully.

This has been a blessing from The Lord!

Every second in this book was inspiration for Jesus. The quirks of this book show the fruits of Charles Spurgeon. I thank God for blessing me with this book.

Equally inspirational as convicting

This is my first (non sermon) book by Spurgeon. I already know I need to hear it again. There is a great mix of practical and motivational data here. My favorite take away is that one need not serve in any specific way so long as one strives to serve Christ. Serve. Speak the gospel. God will do what he wishes through you. That is the message I hear in this book, and it calls me to answer. A more detailed review to post on my blog in time.

Excellent Read, full of scripture, and knowledge

Loved it! Listened to the book while cleaning and doing the laundry throughout the day. As l started fixing dinner for the family; before I knew it I had finished the entire book. Definitely plan to listen again!
