Recovering from a near-death experience, Agent Fireson Bay begins the hunt for his would-be assassin, pursuing her through the streets of Charleston, South Carolina and as far west as the beautiful and isolated Hunt Lake, Idaho; even as he teams up with Agent Rose Clayton of North Carolina’s SBI and Lt. George Bird of the Cherokee Indian Police Department to track down a shadowy serial killer prowling the mountains of western North Carolina and leaving bodies strewn from North Carolina to Georgia and into the sleepy South Carolina Upcountry. Working together, despite the roadblocks thrown up by their superiors and Agent Todd Wright of the FBI, they follow the fleeting trail of a killer that they have begun calling The Raven Mocker.
